Based on Jack Finney's 1955 novel 'The Body Snatchers', the plants being tremendously bigger here...
lyrics
1. Ten thousand light years, the spores had to fly
Right in the eye of the storm
Out of the centre of black holes they come – and they grow
Deep in the valleys, on top of the hills,
Timid and humid remains
Swallowed and hollowed and taken alive – and they grow
B. Into the mesh
On the edge of thorns
R. Battle Gorse is growing
50 metres high – Battle Gorse
Battle Gorse is growing
Heavy Metal
Battle Gorse
2. Superior death-bringing power plants so
No one will stand the attack
Armies are marching, they're all doomed to die
Falling one by one
B. Into the mesh
On the edge of thorns
R. Battle Gorse is growing
50 metres high – Battle Gorse
Battle Gorse is growing
Heavy Metal
Battle Gorse
Battle Gorse
Solo: both
B. Into the mesh
On the edge of thorns
R. Battle Gorse is growing
50 metres high – Battle Gorse
Battle Gorse is growing
Heavy Metal
Battle Gorse is growing
50 metres high – Battle Gorse
Battle Gorse is growing
Heavy Metal
Battle Gorse
Battle Gorse
Dark Forest is easily one of the best modern trad heavy metal bands with this album and Oak, Ash and Thorn alone. Both are masterpieces (OAaT especially). Both have very similar styles of bright, vibrant, glorious melody, but while Oak, Ash and Thorn is more direct, focused and sharp, Beyond the Veil is just an endless riff fest, and a world of melody to explore with still very well rounded and complete song structures. Lyrically, they have got to be one of my favorite bands too. Beautiful stuff Chandler Brown
